Mou Sen
Mou Sen is a professor at CAA, Director of the Media Performance Department at the School of Intermedia Art, Head of the Institute of Narrative Engineering, and advisor for graduate students directing “Series” at the School of Intermedia Art and “Megalith” at the Visual China Art Research Institute. He has participated in various significant ICAST programs.
Mou Sen, a former a theater director, staged major productions including The Other Shore, About AIDS, File Zero, and Red Herring. His recent work is devoted to the narrative project of “reconstructing” the “process” and “changes” in modern Chinese history, and has developed new creative categories for “Megalith” and “Series” in both spatial and temporal dimensions.
Since 2013, Mou Sen has been an important collaborate for ICAST and was a guest at the Graduate Student Salon at the School of Intermedia Art where he presented Revisiting “The Other Shore”: A Transmedia Story of Chinese Avant-Garde Theater. Mou Sen became a major ICAST collaborator and in 2013, he participated in the Publics & Beyond seminar and served as the chief narrator for the opening performance Cloud Theater: Shanghai Odyssey at Reflecta – West Bund 2013: A Biennial of Architecture and Contemporary Art. In 2016, he participated with Intermedia Megastructure: Planet Trilogy at the closing of the 2016 Shanghai Biennale. In 2017, he was one of the primary creators of the art project Tribute: 2018, Future Media / Art Manifesto.
