He Ruian

He Ruian is an artist and writer whose practice lies on the intersections between contemporary art, film, performance and theory. His research examines systems of governance in the age of globalization through lectures, essays and films. He has exhibited at Bangkok Art Biennale, Asian Art Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, Jakarta Biennale, Sharjah Biennale, Cochin Biennale, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Kunsthalle Wien, Singapore Art Museum, Van Abbemuseum, and Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media. He has won the International Film Critics’ Prize (FIPRESCI Prize) at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in Germany, and in 2018 was the winner of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program.
