Fan Di’an

Professor

Fan Di’an served as the President of China Central Academy of Fine Arts (2014-2023), and he is the professor and doctoral supervisor. He also holds several positions such as Chairman of the China Artists Association, Vice Chairman of the China Literature and Art Critics Association.

He has long been engaged in research on 20th-century Chinese art, contemporary art criticism and exhibition curating, and art museum studies. He has published millions of words in art research and criticism, curated over a hundred academic exhibitions reflecting the themes of the times and the achievements of Chinese art development, organized various academic seminars, and numerous international art exchange activities. He has established cooperative relationships with internationally renowned art museums and art academies, promoting the exchange of excellent artistic achievements among countries and enhancing the international influence of Chinese art. His oil paintings have been featured in various academic exhibitions.

As the chief editor, he has published works such as The 20th Century Chinese Art Literature (The Art Volume) , The True Colors of Ink and Wash in the Context of Contemporary Art , World Art Education Series, Contemporary Chinese Art: 1979-1999, World Art History , Modern and Contemporary Chinese Painting, and Masterpieces in the Collection of Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum among others.
