Chen Dong
Chen Dong, born in 1962 in Hunan Province, graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1983, and has been teaching at the School of Chinese Painting of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts since 1986. From 2019, he served as the vice president of the School of Chinese Painting, before retiring in October 2022. In his spare time, he engages in a variety of contemporary cultural practices, including bookselling, publishing, institutional and rural culture cultivation, and has created a number of projects and entities such as Libreria Borges Bookshop, Collection Art Expérimental, Collection Minuit and Video Bureau. He received the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres from French Ministère de la culture in 2010.
