Zhijiang International Youth Art Festival is a comprehensive upgrade of the China Academy of Art graduation season, and the bringing together of provincial and urban student culture and art activities. It is held in May and June each year, and celebrated in conjunction with Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Zhejiang University, Ningbo University and many other Zhejiang based universities. All teachers and students of ICAST participated in the curation and production of the festival.

Adhering to the concept of a 'college without walls', allowing graduation activities to extend beyond the campus, and promoting integration with the wider community and the city, the fruits of their learning shared with society, the organizers mobilize thousands of artists, designers, writers, and scholars every year to participate at several campuses of the China Academy of Art and more than 10 exhibition spaces including museums, galleries, project spaces, and large theaters all over the city. The main exhibition, a grand 'garden party' themed event, featured exhibitions, performances, workshops, forums, and creative markets, attracting nearly 100 media reports and several domestic and international live broadcasts. It displayed the intensity of new cultural thought, creative achievements, and spiritual outlook of young artists, and injected new energy and creative vitality into Hangzhou's cultural and creative industries.

After five editions: Veni, Vidi, We Young (2019), Being With You In The World (2020), Prestory (2021), Vital Force (2022), and Brain Garden (2023), Zhijiang International Youth Art Festival has become a unique cultural business card of Hangzhou and even Zhejiang, and a powerful engine for national arts education and social innovation.
