2022-2023
ICAST×FAI Forum on Exhibition History and Contemporary Curatorial Practice is co-hosted by ICAST and FAI ( Fudan Art Institute), moderated by Lu Jie and Lu Mingjun, with ICAST faculty members Liu Tian, Jiang Feiran, and current students Xi Tianhao, Chen Xunchao, Jin Bowen, Liu Chengzhen, Zhang Yijia, Zhang Chenlu, Jiang Huaili, Wu Dan, and He Qinyu delivering themed reports.
ICAST and FAI have been dedicated to the teaching and research of contemporary art curatorial practices and theory. In recent years, both institutions have gradually developed a comprehensive set of teaching plans and experiences. This forum is based on the courses "Curatorial Practice and Exhibition History Research" offered by both institutes, bringing together active artists, curators, and scholars from the contemporary art scene to revisit and reinterpret the development of global and Chinese contemporary art. The forum aims to confront the increasingly solidified narratives of art history, address the current challenges faced by the ongoing art scene, uncover historical potentials, and explore possible conditions and methods to tackle the current art predicament.
Since 2022, the forum has been held twice: Exhibition Practices and Their Contemporary Dilemmas Since Globalization (2022) and Exhibition Practices and Their Contemporary Dilemmas Since Globalization (2023).
