Chen Kuan-Hsing

Chen Kuan-Hsing is an editor of Taiwan: A Radical Quarterly in Social Studies and co-editor of Inter-Asia Cultural Studies: Movements and Renjian Art Review (Traditional Chinese Edition). He has previously taught at CUNY Queens College, National Tsing Hua University, and National Chiao Tung University, and has a current appointment at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, National Chiao Tung University. His research focuses on Asian/Third World modern thought resources, with references to thinkers such as Chen Yingzhen, Achille Mbembe, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Partha Chatterjee, Qian Liqun, and Mahmood Mamdani, analyzing topics related to the Cold War, division, post/colonialism, and more.

Chen Guangxing is a key promoter of the Inter-Asia School and its curatorial projects and forum activities. He co-initiated the West Heavens project (2010), co-founded the Inter-Asia School (2012), promoted the “Inter-Asia Biennial Summit” (2014), and served as the convener for the Shanghai station’s Beyond Criminal Justice: Learning from South Sudan (2016), among others. In 2015, he was invited by ICAST to organize the workshop “Deimperialization: An Introduction to Asia as Method.”
