Pi Li
Pi Li is a curator, art critic and art educator and is the Artistic Director of Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong. Pi Li was Sigg Senior Curator and Head of Curatorial Affairs at M+, Hong Kong (2012-2023), Deputy Executive Director of the Art Administration Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), (2001-2012), and co-Founder and Director of Universal Studio Beijing (2005-2012), later known as Boers-Li Gallery in Beijing.
His curatorial work includes Right Is Wrong — M+ Sigg Collection: Four Decades of Chinese Contemporary Art (Whitworth Gallery in Manchester 2014, Bildmuseet in Umea 2015), Moist: Multimedia Art Asia Pacific (Beijing Millennium Monument Art Museum 2002), Fantasy Zone (Ilmin Museum of Art, Dong-A Ilbo 2001, Beijing Modern Art Center 2002), Image Is Power (He Xiangning Art Museum, Shenzhen 2002). His publications include From Action to Concept (2015), Farewell to Moralism (2018), M+ Sigg Collection: Four Decades of Chinese Art (2021), and Madame Song: A Life in Art and Fashion (2023).
Pi Li joined ICAST in 2021 and teaches courses on Exhibition History, Chinese Contemporary Art, International Curatorial Research & Theory, and History of Chinese Contemporary Art at ICAST.
