Nie Xiaoyi

Nie Xiaoyi holds a Bachelor of Law from the Department of International Politics of Beijing University, and an MA in Contemporary Art Curation from the Royal College of Art. She is currently conducting doctoral research on ‘Collective Advance’ at the Royal College of Art, focusing on contemporary images and geographical space. Her articles have been published in Artreview and Art Journal. Her recent project ‘Metamorphosis: Art Practices Now Activating Archives and Public Memories’, jointly organized with Hu Hao and Liu Zhang Bolong, was selected for the research exhibition program of OCAT Beijing Research Center, and the text ‘One Reading the Views’ in collaboration with Zhong Jialing has also been published. She was  nominated for the Discovery Award at the Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival in 2017, and participated in the collaborative project ‘Itinerant Assembly’ at Gasworks  in London, exploring ways to temporarily gather within the city.
